Bloody fantastic, mate. (I just did that in an accent. Which one? Pick one, I did it in that one.)

This is frightening for New Yorkers like me who can't swim. Seeing New York in any sort of destruction is scary. It's Cloverfield all over again.

uDraw - New Wii Game With Drawing Tablet

Wii is coming out with its own drawing tablet to accompany the game uDraw in which you...draw. That seems to be all you can do. Here's my question: why not use a real tablet on a real computer instead?

The tablet could be put to better use on the Wii for a new Mario Paint game. Back in the day, I was a big Mario Paint fan with big plans. Big movie plans. Unfortunately, I was preoccupied with the second grade... Now that I'm an adult, I've got all the time in the world to play.

With each new Nintendo console, I've been filled with the hope of a new Mario Paint. In the original SNES video game, you were able to do far more than just draw. You could animate your drawings and even create a soundtrack. There was also that addictive and oftentimes frustrating fly-swatting mini game.

To further attest to how powerful a new Mario Paint would be, I found the theme song of Charles in Charge composed entirely on Mario Paint (while I was on YouTube "researching" for my post about the Family Matters cover):

Imagine how much more can be done now that it's almost 20 years later. In related news, everything reminds me that I'm old.

The Morning Benders - Virgins

A long time ago, when having a MySpace account was acceptable, this band The Morning Benders sent me a friend request and messaged me saying they thought I would like their music because I liked some other band (as many bands on MySpace used to do). I wrote them back and they wrote me back and this exchange went on for another round or two. I wish I remembered what was said. This story would be less incomplete if I did...

Family Matters Theme Song Cover

Sick Animation covers the Family Matters theme song.

Here's another slow-paced cover of a beloved 80s/90s sitcom's theme song (Saved By the Bell by Randy Haddock) from last year:

Who's going to cover Charles in Charge in 2011?

Lone Star Canceled After Only Two Episodes

Have you been watching Fox's new drama Lone Star? I actually watched the first episode online yesterday just in time to catch the second new episode last night. That's two hours of good television gone to waste, since the network just confirmed its cancellation.

There are several reasons why this show shouldn't have been canceled. I won't go into them all. Here are some of the dumbest reasons why:

James Wolk looks like Kyle Chandler (Coach Eric Taylor from Friday Night Lights)

Adrianne Palicki used to be on Friday Night Lights
Bryce Johnson used to be on Popular

Now, don't you wish you watched this show?

Easy A - Speaking of Mean Girls

I saw Easy A over the weekend. I was so excited for this movie being deemed the Mean Girls of this generation. Firstly, that's a bold statement. MG is up there on my list of favorite movies. Yes, of ever. In fact, it's one of the most quotable films of my life. Secondly, are we in a new generation? How old am I? The answer is "How dare you!"

Well, I sat down, ready to laugh...and I did. I wouldn't compare the film's leading lady, Emma Stone, to Lindsay Lohan and I wouldn't go so far as to draw similarities to Mean Girls, but it was a cute film. The script does not live up to Tina Fey's masterpiece, that's for sure. But Stone is just as charming as Lohan, in her own way. I said I wouldn't compare them, right? Right. Emma Stone is a charming young lady unlike any other. She's got that "it" factor, much like another husky-voiced redhead who shan't be named, not to mention her comedic timing. Emma Stone is the cross-breed of the young, hot "it" girl and the quirky girl-next-door. Again though, script-wise, I felt like it had the potential to be stronger. I can't remember a single a quote, let alone one that would make sense to end this on. Instead, I'll leave you with Mariah Carey who to this day quotes Mean Girls:

I'm almost a month late on this, but I was busy watching some great TV shows.

Hey, Best Week Ever's Noah Garfinkel, Let's Be Friends

I've been reading Noah Garfinkel's articles on Best Week Ever for a while now. This guy causes real-life LOLs and I think we would be great friends. His humor is exactly what humor should be—hilarious. And to top it all off, I read his article "I Ruin Your Morning After Dentist" today and find out that he's watching Veronica Mars on Netflix like a college kid cramming for a test the night before. I WATCHED VERONICA MARS EXACTLY LIKE THAT ON NETFLIX THIS SUMMER!! I think Kristen Bell must have heard about us and is now campaigning to get a movie going for the show that was canceled three years ago. That's the only explanation that makes any sense.

Here are some pictures of things I mentioned in this blog:

Stop-Motion Procrastination [video]

Funny story about this procrastination video: I put off watching it because 1:25 seemed like too long of a video to watch at the time. And now three days later...

Someone in the comments pointed out another video on procrastination:

If I didn't have a procrastination problem, I would make a video about it too. Ohhh the things I would do... Endless! Excuse me while I find a pen for the next 30 minutes.

Hello Kitty + R2D2 = "Hello H2K2"

If I had watched any of the Star Wars movies, I'd be going insane right now. Instead, I'm just thinking "HELLO KITTY ROBOT!!"

Check out the rest of Joseph Senior's Hello Kitty Pop Culture series.

Oh Deer...

A deer made from typewriter parts. We're building our demise. The robo-Noah's-Arc only needs one of each animal. Really, it only needs one super-robot. Typewriter deer is only the beginning...

I should probably mention that I have an irrational fear/fascination concerning robots, androids, artificial intelligence, etc.

Lindsay Lohan - The Woman, The Myth, The Mugshots

Lindsay Lohan appeared in court again and was sent to jail again. The top left picture is her latest mugshot—best one yet? I think it's because she's slowly turning back into a redhead. Notice how her legal troubles began when she went blonde? Hopefully this transition back to a redhead also means a step toward reviving Lilo circa 2004. We miss Mean Girls Lindsay.

Lately, I've been watching Lindsay Lohan interviews from yester-year but I had to stop after I came across this one:

What happened to sweet, bubbly Lilo interviews where it didn't feel like you were watching old videos of a "gone too soon" starlet?

I Love Gag Reels - How I Met Your Mother (Season 5) Edition

I love gag reels, bloopers, outtakes, whatever you want to call them. Here's the latest for season 5 of the sitcom How I Met Your Mother:

I could have done without the music montage in the last two minutes of the video. Instead, give me more of Jason Segel's uncontrollable, infectious laughter.

Real-Life Slow Motion Movers and Poppers in Japan [video]

BESTIE x BESTIE 1 [video]

I know this is almost a week old (which translates to "old news, snore, zzzz, neeexxxxtttt!" in Internet language), but I just rewatched it and loved it as much as the first time. This is what Jenny Slate should have been on Saturday Night Live in what I hope is the first of many episodes of a web series with her bestie Gabe Liedman.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World DVD release date

If you missed Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World in theaters, you'll be able to catch it on DVD soon. I can't believe it's coming to DVD and Blu-ray on November 9...in 2010! That's this year! I guess it makes sense, since it bombed in the box office. Not everyone read the graphic novels and was excited to see the film on opening night like a big dork. Enough about me, take a look at the official trailer if you're unfamiliar with the movie and make sure to Netflix it or go so far as to buy it:

Pokemon Fan-Made Live-Action Trailer [video]

I love this sort of stuff. There were all of those Street Fighter fan-made videos and now Pokemon. Why hasn't anyone made a Jem and the Holograms live-action video? Wait, I have an idea...

OK Go - White Knuckles [music video]

OK Go, the band known for their one-take music videos (that usually incorporate some sort of choreography), has a new video out for their song "White Knuckles" and it doesn't even matter that their music isn't what it used to be. All that matters is that they up the ante with each video. What could top End Love or the monstrous machine from This Too Shall Pass? Dogs, duh!:

Interestingly enough, not the first time OK Go has worked with dogs:

Katy Perry on Sesame Street

Katy Perry on Sesame Street with Elmo? Oh how the times have changed. I remember back in the day (almost three years ago) when Katy Perry was on Pancake Mountain with Rufus Leaking.

2010 - Katy Perry does Sesame Street

2008 - Katy Perry sings and plays guitar on Pancake Mountain
